Development of elite athletes: An approach from the partial least square path modelling

نویسندگان

چکیده

Literature about elite sports management tends to focus on the analysis of qualitative level its success factors, especially among developed countries. In consequence, aim this study is perform a predictive causal that examines factors influencing development athletes within Valle del Cauca region in Colombia. 171 valid surveys were performed direct stakeholders sports. The goodness fit, composite reliability, discriminant validity and proposed structural model examined by using partial least square path modelling via ADANCO software. Empirical results show for population under study, competitions (p=.000), talent (p=.002), administration system (p=.02) cultural aspects (p=.002) are have positive influence athletes; whereas hypothesis funding, infrastructure, coaches scientific research rejected. This article contributes existing literature providing knowledge developing from quantitative approach. Keywords: Elite sports; Developing region; PLS modeling; Sports development.

2D Path Following for Marine Craft: A Least-Square Approach

We study the problem of straight-line path following for fully actuated marine craft. We propose a controller that adjusts the speed of the marine craft according to the geometric distance and the rate of convergence to the path. The control law is derived using the method of least squares, which is used to find an approximate solution for overdetermined systems. The conditions under which the ...

Decision-making in healthcare: a practical application of partial least square path modelling to coverage of newborn screening programmes

BACKGROUND Decision-making in healthcare is complex. Research on coverage decision-making has focused on comparative studies for several countries, statistical analyses for single decision-makers, the decision outcome and appraisal criteria. Accounting for decision processes extends the complexity, as they are multidimensional and process elements need to be regarded as latent constructs (compo...

Partial least squares methods: partial least squares correlation and partial least square regression.

Partial least square (PLS) methods (also sometimes called projection to latent structures) relate the information present in two data tables that collect measurements on the same set of observations. PLS methods proceed by deriving latent variables which are (optimal) linear combinations of the variables of a data table. When the goal is to find the shared information between two tables, the ap...
